Bonyad Faraatar runs a range of training courses to develop the people needed by Iran’s technology ecosystem. We aim to improve business knowledge and skills in Iran by bringing current international knowledge into educational programmes. In collaboration with Otagh Farhang va Honar-e Orupa va Khavarmianeh, we are currently running a Miandari course. By training professional practitioners and encouraging the Miandari mindset, we seek to prevent tensions that can lead to violence in contemporary Iranian society and create a trustworthy, fertile foundation for business and human relationships.

About the Miandari course
A fundamental aim of a citizen-led society is coexistence without destructive, violence-provoking tensions. Methods of reducing tension and resolving individual and group differences, while protecting personal interests and social solidarity, are therefore increasingly relevant across modern life. Miandari and communication have become particularly important in societies that seek to manage interpersonal and social tensions responsibly. Through a dynamic process, Miandari enables different value systems to enter dialogue and recognise one another without fear. In a climate of trust, difficult and contested situations can move towards a future that is better, calmer and easier to understand.
Miandari training
Foundational Miandari training introduces its theoretical and practical principles in today’s world, with attention to national and international cultures of nonviolence and tension reduction. It is useful for anyone seeking thoughtful, creative ways to address conflict through research and individual or social action. Miandari originated within the broader concept of mediation, but has gradually developed into an independent concept. It is a voluntary process of reducing tension in which people experiencing disagreement, difference or conflict find their own solution with the support of a third person, the Miandar. A Miandar must remain independent of official institutions, authority and claims to superior insight, and practise without taking sides or imposing a judgement. The training introduces fundamental concepts, current knowledge and practical applications for managing tensions in social, family, cultural, civic, educational, communication, economic and business relationships.
